The Perfect Solo Camping Getaway Near Chicago

Sometimes you don't need a big adventure… you just need a night outside. I headed back to Indiana Dunes for a relaxing overnight camping trip at Dunewood Campground. Unlike some of my more intense adventures, this trip was all about slowing down, enjoying nature, and resetting. I rode my e-scooter to the campground, set up my tent, and collected some firewood for the night. After that, I hopped back on my scooter and rode to a nearby convenience store to grab an extra bundle of firewood before exploring the area. I took a peaceful hike around a nearby lake where the trail winds through a beautiful marsh filled with wildlife and incredible scenery. I originally planned on grabbing dinner at the restaurant near the campground, but they closed earlier than expected. So instead, I made an Alpine Aire dehydrated meal back at camp — and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect camping dinner. After spending the evening relaxing by the fire, I retreated into my tent, turned on my portable projector, watched some movies, and enjoyed a quiet night in the woods. The next morning I woke up early, packed up camp, and headed home so I could get ready for work.
