The Shire of Holstein (Holsteiner Auenland) is a region of about 800 square kilometers in the southern part of the province of Schleswig-Holstein. The name was chosen in view of the numerous floodplains that crisscross the area. Pretty much right in the middle is the small town of Bad Bramstedt - the starting point for this 28 km loop hike.
