Entresto | Uses Side Effects & Precautions

Entresto is a medication prescribed for individuals with a specific type of heart failure called heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, or HFrEF for short. Simply put, this means that the heart is not pumping as effectively as it should, making it harder for the body to receive the necessary oxygen and nutrients. Entresto is comprised of two different medicines: sacubitril and valsartan. Sacubitril works by inhibiting an enzyme called neprilysin, which helps relax blood vessels and decrease sodium and fluid in the body. On the other hand, valsartan is an Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB). It helps to relax and open up blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body.
