If you have €20,000 in pensions, the tax is calculated on €18,000 (i.e. €20,000 – 10% * €20,000) and not €20,000. This tax deduction is automatically applied on the tax notice, but is being challenged today. We'll see if it's applicable this year and whether the vote is passed or not.
