In the latest episode of Inside the World about Pakistan, Dmitry Komarov details the life of the world's most tribal people, the Pashtuns, and visits the "tribal zone" on the border with Afghanistan. The Pashtuns have long been considered a warlike tribe. Today, they live in modern cities, but they still unconditionally follow their own "law of honor," Pashtunwali. Violation of this law carries a prison sentence and can even lead to death. The cardinal rules of a true Pashtun are dignity, national pride, good name, faith, perseverance, equality, and no ill will. This last point is very important to this tribe, even though it is quite controversial for a person with a modern outlook. Constant conflicts and the need to defend their homes have shaped the militant culture of the Pashtuns. That's why every native carries a weapon, and it's a matter of pride here.
