Dr. Anna M. Gade, Ph.D., has been a Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences during the academic year, 2024-25, teaching environmental ethics in the MPP program in Climate Change. She is Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA, and author of the widely-acclaimed book, Muslim Environmentalisms: Religious and Social Foundations (Columbia University Press, 2019). In this interview, she discusses local and national Indonesian leadership in areas of Islam, sustainability, and environment in the context of the Global South.
