Press the fresh leaf onto the sand with the top side firmly in place, smoothing the leaf slightly around the mound if necessary. Place the fine sand in a large bucket or construction tub. Measure about half the amount of cement (2:1 ratio) into a mortar bucket and add a trowel of plaster. Add the mixture to the sand and stir. Now mix the concrete with water – not too thin! Note: If too much sand is used, the concrete will not be strong enough. To avoid confusion about the mixing ratio, you can also use a ready-mixed cement (1 pack). Brush the rhubarb leaf evenly with cooking oil to make the concrete easier to dissolve later. Then apply a thick layer of concrete up to the edge of the leaf and form the bowl. Press the concrete firmly and pile it up in the center. Then flatten the center with a board to give the bowl a stable footing. The bowl can be used for various purposes. A base is also suitable for a birdbath. For this, use a short tree stump: Screw it onto the flattened area in the center of the future base of the birdbath and pile it with concrete. The birdbath must dry thoroughly for at least 24 hours (see instructions). Only then should you carefully remove the rhubarb leaf along its veins, if necessary using a sharp object such as a screwdriver.
