Golden Hour up at the Turret Dam - X8 Cinelifter Mountain Surfing - Blackmagic Micro G2

Join me for a blast on the hills around a stunning Scottish loch with my X8 cinelifter. Custom built, with an AOS Cine UL8 frame, this 8 inch X8 is an absolute joy to fly! So much grip and power... This is my first time trying the Blackmagic Micro G2 in "golden hour" light. This time of day is really tricky for any camera setup due to the really high dynamic range needed. I went for a 5.6 aperture (as open as I dared to maintain infinity focus) and kept the gain at 0, which using quite a harsh ND32 filter. I'm pretty happy with the results, although I think next time, ND16 (or even ND8) may have been more appropriate, as there is quite a bit of noise in the darks still. I could have done with another couple of packs to get the feel of the aircraft again too... I had a couple of moments where I wasn't as smooth with the flying as I would have liked! Next time I'll have some warmup packs before the light gets really nice like this! The cinelifter learning curve continues! If you enjoy my flow, and like to have your head spun around while exploring Scotland's hills and coastlines with 5 and 7 inch quadcopters, check out my selection of "no-stab" rips...    • “No Stab” Freestyle   I'm particularly fond of flying 7 inch quads in the mountains. If you enjoy a more relaxing experience, or you are keen to learn more about the engineering and technical side of FPV flying, radio setups, long range flying and custom builds (including a deep dive into 8S powered quads), then I would thoroughly recommend my AOS 7 and RAD Li-Ion playlists.    • AOS 7 V5 - Mk 1 6S and Mk 3 8S Builds      • RAD Li-Ion - 7 inch Long-Range Build   SmellyFox FPV - CAA A2 CofC registered and insured UAV operator and pilot and member of FPVUK. If you have any questions about my builds, or would like to colaborate, please get in touch via my website below. https://tristramtree.co.uk If you see me or my quads about, please come and say hello! Community and shared knowledge are important to me, so look me up, and come and share some packs sometime!
