KIA K4 GT-Line S Review 2026, Worth £37K? (UK)(4K) | Carcode

#kia #kiak4 #hatchback The Kia K4 is a new hatchback to replace the popular Kia Ceed / Proceed models! I tested out the standard Pure specification car at the launch, but in this review I have an in-depth look of the most exciting version, the Kia K4 GT-Line S 1.6 turbocharged petrol model, producing 177BHP. I was very keen to fully test out this K4 as a Volkswagen Golf owner & fan to see how does it compare? Once again Kia has impressed with excellent quality, style & refinement usually found on higher end cars. The car is tested did have a list price of over £37,000, actually making it similarly priced to some premium options like the 1 Series & A Class, but the K4 impressed with the sheer amount of standard features on each spec, without the need for additional options or packs, meaning compared to equally specced rivals the Kia comes in at a few thousand less. The K4 is available with a choice of 1.0L mild hybrid petrol or 1.6 petrol engines, mostly offered with the 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Unfortunately a manual transmission is only available with the standard Pure model & the 1.0L MHEV engine, producing 113BHP and a 0-62 time of over 11 seconds. The highest output 1.6 (as tested) does 0-62 in just 8.4 seconds and feels A LOT quicker than the 1 litre! I think the K4 makes an excellent replacement to the Ceed and in the top-spec is certainly a worthy contender to the Volkswagen Golf and even more premium rivals. Practicality is impressive with the 1.6L models, but boot space is taken up in the 1.0L models due to the MHEV system. As a whole the K4 is actually quite a large car compared to a Golf or A3, so would make a good family car, although many people would prefer an SUV. Both an estate version & a full hybrid model are also due to join the range soon. Thanks again to Kia UK for making this video possible.
