Patrocínio is a municipality in Alto Paranaíba, in the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais, known as the "Coffee Capital of the Cerrado". With an altitude of approximately 950–1,000 m and a mild climate, it has ideal conditions for specialty coffees with the Cerrado Mineiro Designation of Origin, which drive a large part of the economy along with grains (soybeans, corn), livestock, and industry. The city has an organized center, active commerce, squares, and the Santa Luzia Parish Church as a landmark. On the calendar, the National Coffee Festival and agricultural exhibitions. The gastronomy mixes award-winning coffee, cheeses, sweets, and Minas Gerais pastries. Nature and sightseeing: Cerrado landscapes with coffee farms (some offer visits/tastings), waterfalls, and viewpoints in the Serra do Salitre region and surroundings.
