Laurie Beechman - Harbor (live 1975)
In 1975 Laurie played a gig at a club called Seesaw. Sadly, I can't find any information about the club but the good news is that one of Laurie's friends did record the show with a portable cassette recorder. I have done my best to strip away as much of the background noise and remastered it to bring you this gem! Harbor was written by Peter Allen, who, at the time, Laurie had just seen in concert and chose to perform this truly heartbreaking song in her show. At the tender age of 22, Laurie brought so much depth of emotion that the rather boisterous crowd at Seesaw was left rendered silent for a moment...foreshadowing the STAR that Laurie was destined to become! Laurie's interpretation of the line, "It seems my heart just stopped caring" moves me to tears each time I hear it. Please share your feedback and feelings about this once in a lifetime performance.
