Steam Into The Yukon! White Pass and Yukon 73 in 2025

It's time! Hitch up that backpack because we're hitting the trail to search for gold in the Klondike of The Yukon! We’re not in our normal Southwest, and the USAToday’s 10Best Most Scenic Train ride we are used to, the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is replaced with this one maxed out in nearly every way.Of course, it's September and we're searching for the golden yellow leafs that abound the emerald waters of Lake Bennett straddling the border of British Columbia and the Yukon. We follow in the footsteps of sourdough miners that plied this route in search of treasure in the Dawson City gold fields. We’re disembarking from the Carnival Triumph… No? The MS Antonia Graza? (No, not a Ghost Ship?), the Holland America MS Veendam (well, I did back in 2003), The Oasis of the Sea (no, not a monstrosity)… Nope, we’re disembarking from the MV Hubbard of the Alaska Marine Highway at the end of the Lynn Canal, a fiord (Norwegian Blue? Wonderfull plumage!) that cuts into the Alaska Panhandle to find the paths north of the Chilkoot Trail from Dyea, but we’ll take the White Pass route, the one now carved into the earth via steel rails of the railroad companies of Pacific & Arctic Railway & Navigation Company, The British Columbia Yukon Railway, and finally the British Yukon Railway… Of course, to know them by all three would be a bit much, so, then, as now, they were collectively operated under the banner of the now famed, White Pass and Yukon Route. We join Pete Lerro on one his all encompassing photo charters where we ride the White Pass & Yukon Route in its entirety! Well, the portion that is not moribund into Whitehorse. We follow the steps of Jack London (okay, near his steps) into British Columbia.
