Series: Report First broadcast: December 7, 2017 After decades in which public and private entities handled the personal data of Salvadorans without discretion or parameters to guarantee its proper preservation, in the last two years citizens have begun to realize that the protection of their sensitive information is a right. Following several cases that set precedents in the media and in the legal arena, the Institute for Access to Public Information is leading the way in building a society that fully respects the right to information protection for every Salvadoran.
