In this episode of the Dynamics 365 Lab series, we explore the Supplier Communication Agent in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, one of the embedded AI capabilities introduced by Microsoft to improve vendor communication and procurement processes. In our previous video, we discussed MCP and extensible AI, where AI can be customized to automate almost anything. Embedded AI, however, works differently. These capabilities are prebuilt by Microsoft and come with predefined logic that focuses on solving specific business problems. The Supplier Communication Agent is a great example of this concept. It is designed to monitor vendor email communication and intelligently assist procurement teams by analyzing vendor responses. Vendors can confirm purchase orders, request changes, or ask questions through email, and the agent continuously monitors these interactions. Instead of manually reviewing every email, the system interprets the message and generates structured suggestions within Dynamics 365. These suggestions include supporting evidence from the original email, ensuring that the human user remains fully in control. The user can review the proposed changes, verify the email context, and decide whether to approve or reject the recommendation. For this entire process to work, several configurations must be completed across Dynamics 365, Azure, and the Power Platform. In this video, we walk through the full setup required to enable the Supplier Communication Agent, including enabling Immersive Home, activating Agent Management and the Supplier Communication feature, creating the necessary user identities across Azure Active Directory, Finance and Operations, and the Power Platform Admin Center, and establishing the required connections within the Power Apps Maker Portal. We also review the out-of-the-box Power Automate flows delivered with Finance and Operations that drive the communication and orchestration behind the scenes. Once the setup is complete, we move into a practical demonstration showing how vendor emails are captured, interpreted by the agent, and transformed into actionable suggestions inside Dynamics 365.
