"Stars" by Usman Anees (Pakistan)

The piece presented deals with the fascination and beauty attached with the stars and celestial bodies and the impact it has on human life since ancient times. The music goes through various events and occasions: from the lonely night of star gazing, to the constellations that have guided humans on sea and the formidable shooting star that has come down with various interpretation ranging from celebrations to war with it over the millennium, and spiraling galaxies in the grand design. The music is in ternary form and the orchestra depicts the events in the colorful manner, rising both in intensity and complexity as the themes are climaxed.
