An 17-year-old undergraduate student died after falling from the second floor of his hostel in the Jadavpur University campus in Kolkata last week. The family of the first-year Bengali Honours student has alleged that he was being ragged on campus. “He spoke to his mother on Wednesday evening and told her that he wasn’t feeling well. He also told her that he was very scared. When his mother asked him what had happened, he asked her to come soon.
