Internally, it provides ‘facts’ that help teams move past debating the numbers and start taking action. 4. EPDs influence the entire supply chain Creating an EPD has a ripple effect. By asking suppliers for their environmental data, you encourage them to develop their own EPDs. This helps improve data accuracy and supports the goal of decarbonising the whole supply chain. 5. Translation is key to success A technical 100-page report can be daunting. To get the most value, you must ‘translate’ the data for different groups – such as leadership, sales teams, or customers – so they can understand and use the results to make decisions.
