Upon awakening, Jacob recognizes the place as sacred and vows to serve God, acknowledging that the Lord is with him and will guide him. He sets up a stone pillar and anoints it, declaring that this place shall be called Bethel, symbolizing his commitment to rise higher in faith and devotion.
