Jackie Flores True Crime | He Became OBSESSED With Her TV Character & Believed They Were In a Relationship | Rebecca Schaeffer On the morning of July 18th, 1989: actress Rebecca Schaeffer was at home in her West Hollywood apartment, really excited because she was waiting for a special script to be delivered. She had just landed an audition for a role in The Godfather Part III, and this was a huge deal. This was the kind of opportunity that every young actress in Hollywood dreamed of, and for Rebecca, it was now within reach. And when her doorbell finally rang, she rushed downstairs and opened the door. She was met with a young man she had never seen before.. He wasn’t delivering the script, but he was a fan of hers. So, Rebecca greeted him politely but briefly, excused herself, and closed the door. A little while later, the doorbell rang again. She went back down and opened the door. The same stranger was back. She looked at him, he looked at her, and in a matter of seconds, something tragic and irreversible happened on that doorstep.
