Life Keeps Getting in the Way of Our Sailboat Refit

Life has a funny way of getting in the way of your plans. We came home from Canada ready to get back to work on Olivia, our 1987 Irwin 52, but life had other ideas. Between feeding deer and geese, helping care for rescue animals, vet visits, working on the house, and everything else that seems to fill our days, progress on Olivia sometimes happens a little slower than we’d like. But it IS happening. In this video, Shawn shares the new gooseneck assembly he machined from a solid block of aluminum after the replacement we purchased just wasn’t right for Olivia. And somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, we keep chipping away at the projects that will eventually get us in the water. This is the part of rebuilding a sailboat that you don’t always see, the life happening around it. Thanks for following along with us and Olivia.
