Fishing in Iešjávri Finnmark, 20 July 2019

Iešjávri is Finnmark's largest lake, and extends over the municipalities Alta, Kautokeino and Karasjok. In Iešjávri you can get trout, char, grayling and pike. Largest trout taken here in recent times, weighed 10 kg and was caught on the ice. On our trip here this year, we got more grayling around a kilo, which we let out again. For the greatest chance of catching trout, it is recommended to use a canoe or boat. We drove in with ATV, but you can walk to Iešjávri if you are in good shape.
