Ten undocumented foreign nationals arrested in Pretoria inspection blitz

Ten undocumented foreign nationals and their employers were arrested during a multidisciplinary blitz inspection targeting labour and immigration law violations in Pretoria. The operation, led by officials from the Departments of Home Affairs and Employment and Labour, together with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Tshwane Metro Police, focused on enforcing compliance with labour and immigration legislation at several companies, including Korteks Textiles Africa and AMKA Products. Deputy Ministers Jomo Sibiya and Njabulo Nzuza say sustained operations of this nature are intended to discourage employers from hiring undocumented foreign nationals who do not possess scarce skills, while helping to curb illegal immigration. SABC News senior reporter Ofentse Setimo and video journalist Thabo Mtshweni compiled this report. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
