A glorious night for Celtic as they beat a Real Madrid side that had won La Liga in four of the last five years (indeed, that season, they would make it five out of six). Unfortunately for the Bhoys, their two-goal lead proved to be insufficient - Los Blancos, with Englishman Laurie Cunningham among their number, came roaring back at the Bernabeu to advance 3-2 on aggregate.
