MustBeMad | Campsite Review | Palm Cottages and Campsite

Palm Farm Cottages and Campsite turned out to be exactly the kind of stopover we needed after a long day on the Great North Road in Zambia. We weren’t originally planning to stop here, but with the road getting busier, the trucks getting heavier, and the driving becoming a little less enjoyable by the hour, we decided to call it for the night. After a quick dinner and proper coffee nearby at Fig Tree, we arrived at Palm Farm in the dark, in the rain, and were welcomed straight in. This is a peaceful farm-style campsite with grass, trees, friendly dogs, ducks, chickens, a nursery, cows being milked in the morning, and enough space to reset before the next long push north. The campsite is simple, but it has what overlanders need: a braai area, wash-up space, clean ablutions, hot water when the power allows, plenty of hooks and shelves in the showers, and a quiet, safe feel. There is some distant road noise from the Great North Road, but after the day we had, it was easy enough to imagine it as the ocean somewhere far away. For us, Palm Farm worked really well as a practical and welcoming overnight stop, especially if you are heading towards Kasanka and don’t want to push too many hours on Zambia’s busier roads in one day. ━━━ MustBeMad Ratings ━━━ Accessibility .......... 7/10 Facilities ............. 7/10 Cleanliness ............ 7/10 Value for Money ........ 6/10 ★ MustBeMad Score: 7/10 ★ 📍 Palm Farm Cottages and Campsite, Zambia 💰 200 kwacha per person at the time of our visit 🎥 Reviewed by MustBeMad
