Kia EV4 Hatchback (78kWh) Winter Range Test at 130 km/h (81mph)

Description: Good morning everyone — it’s range test time! Today I test the Kia EV4 with the big 81 kWh battery (FWD, 150 kW, 19” winter tires) on the German Autobahn at a constant 130 km/h in real winter conditions. 🌡 Temperature: –2°C to 2°C ❄️ Snow overnight 🛞 215/50 R19 winter tires 🔥 Heat pump active 🌬 Climate set to 22°C Despite cold temperatures and snow on the car, efficiency improved during the run as the road dried and temperatures increased slightly. ⚡ Charging & Battery Preheating Issue Battery preconditioning did not activate reliably: Navigation to charger → no automatic preheat Manual activation → symbol shown, but no energy consumption Restarting the car → preheating finally worked Arrived initially with cold battery After driving down to 9% and forcing battery heating, charging performance normalized.
