Why Do We Need Christian Education? | Niel Deepnarain | Unite For Education

Our founder Niel spoke on why Christian Education matters at our Inverclyde Education Information Evening. Christian education fosters a true sense of community among students, parents, and teachers, creating a supportive and encouraging environment. Christian education aims to prepare students not just for academic success but also for life, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and values to be responsible and engaged citizens. The worldview of whoever educates children directly influences what information is taught and how it is presented and the vast majority of the time it is not from a biblical worldview. Sometimes this is openly seen in the topics being presented, such as the direct teaching of evolution. Other times this worldview is presented not in a direct way. For example, students might encounter a word problem in math that casually references a family with a same-sex couple purchasing items from a grocery store. A paragraph in a science textbook or a 15-minute class discussion presented from a secular worldview doesn’t seem like a big deal, but those repeated exposures can have devastating consequences for children. It’s like playing the same song every day.
