Heavy rains have caused massive destruction across Jammu and Kashmir, with flash floods and landslides disrupting normal life in several areas. At least 22 civilians have lost their lives, while electricity supply has been affected in Poonch and Rajouri districts. The administration has intensified rescue and relief operations as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall in the coming days. Several roads have been damaged, but restoration work is underway. Around 230 people have been rescued and evacuated in Rajouri, while hundreds of affected residents are taking shelter in relief camps. Educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir have been ordered to remain closed till July 26 as a precautionary measure. Several pilgrimages, including the Amarnath Yatra, remain suspended due to the adverse weather conditions.
