The dashboard in the Transit Custom Plug-In hybrid has a refreshed design that gives you information at a glance and helps you get the most from the hybrid engine. The traditional rev countrer on your dashboard has been replaced with a new power metre. This not only shows you how much power you’re using when accelerating, but also lets you know how much power the system is sending back to the hybrid battery. The more power that’s sent back to the battery, the faster it will recharge. In addition to the usual ‘distance to empty’ indicator, you can also see information on how much electric-only range is left in the battery. This helps you make an informed decision about when to use electric power. For example, you might choose to put the vehicle into EV Charge mode to maximise the recharge rate and save the electric power for later in the journey when you enter a low-emission zone.
