Fuerza Aérea de Chile, Armada y ENAER impulsan nuevo avión multipropósito chileno

At FIDAE 2026, the Chilean Air Force (FACh), the Chilean Navy, and the National Aeronautics Company of Chile (ENAER) signed a letter of intent and a cooperation agreement to advance the technical and economic feasibility study of a new multi-purpose aircraft based on the ENAER T-40 “Newen.” The agreement was signed by the Commander of the FACh Logistics Command, Air Force General Miguel Stange Muñoz; the Director General of Services of the Chilean Navy, Vice Admiral César Delgado Boffil; and the CEO of ENAER, Henry Cleveland Cartes. The project aims to analyze the feasibility of developing a domestically manufactured multi-role turboprop aircraft, strengthening the Chilean aeronautical industry and the country's defense and logistical support capabilities. The ENAER T-40 “Newen” represents one of the most important projects in the Chilean aerospace industry in recent years, with the potential to evolve into new versions for training, surveillance, and multi-purpose missions.
