Baby Kestrel Tastes His First Bat Lolly

It's time to introduce bat lollies which are tiny pieces of very ripe, peeled pear to kick off the weaning process. As will occur once Kestrel is released back to the wild, whole fruit or part thereof is squeezed onto to the roof of the mouth, extracting juice and seeds which pass through the digestive tract before being deposited in nutrient rich guano thus helping to regenerate forests. It's very early days for Kestrel but his species has been pollinating and dispersing forest seeds for millennia which is why flying-foxes are so important to the health and diversity of Australian forests. www.facebook.com/BatzillatheBat/
