Fakir Mohan Senapati (13 January 1843 – 14 June 1918) was a legendary Indian writer, poet, philosopher, and social reformer widely revered as the Father of Modern Odia Literature and the Father of Odia Nationalism. Fondly called Utkala Byasa Kabi (the Vyasa of Odisha), he played a central role in protecting, modernising, and establishing the distinct identity of the Odia language during a period when it faced extreme political and linguistic suppression.
