No one should have to choose between a meal and their education. At the No One Hungry event hosted by World Food Movement and the Consulate General of India in New York, leaders, students, donors, and partners came together around a simple but powerful belief — that food is not just nourishment. It is a fundamental right. It is education, health, and opportunity. World Food Movement (WFM) was founded to turn that belief into action. Inspired by Srila Prabhupada's first acts of kindness in 1966 New York and built on the proven success of The Akshaya Patra Foundation — the world's largest NGO school meal program, serving over 2 million children daily in India — WFM is now bringing that same spirit of systematic compassion to the United States. Since 2024, WFM has served over 30,000 fresh, nutritious meals to food-insecure college students and communities across New Jersey, New York, California, Virginia, Washington DC, and Massachusetts. Every meal is prepared and delivered with care — because every student deserves to focus on their future, not their next meal. Our goal: 1 million cumulative meals by 2030.
