Making Truffle Trees for the Farm - Tuber Melanosporum
I have created around 150 Tuber Melanosporum Truffle Trees for my farm. Information about creating trees infected with mycorrhizal fungi from the truffle family is hard to find. So I have decided to wing it and see how i go about with a method I thought might work. I have used dried melanosporum fruit body, ground up and added to a slurry of wet perlite. From here Holm Oak acorn seeds were placed in the slurry and allowed to germinate. Once they germinated I moved them to pots of soil. The soil I amended with calcium carbonate to raise the ph to a level suitable for truffle species. The ph should shift to around 7.5, given time.
