Exklusivtest: Ducati Panigale V4R in Misano – Racing Gearbox, 15.750/min & Rennsport‑Elektronik

Exclusive test of the new Ducati Panigale V4R at Misano! Test bikes of this machine are extremely hard to come by – we were lucky enough to ride an official Ducati test bike on the racetrack. A motorcycle surrounded by a mystical aura. Here are our impressions. Engine – 998 cc of seemingly endless power: Not the 1103 cc of the V4S, but the superbike-compliant 998 cc V4. In street trim, it produces 218 hp, with a race exhaust, 235 hp – both at a breathtaking 15,750 rpm. Forged steel crankshaft, 5.1% lighter DLC pistons, titanium connecting rods, titanium intake valves, oval intake ports, intake funnels shortened by 10 mm, and a racing dry clutch. Highlight: the new Racing Gearbox with Neutral-Lok – neutral mechanically blocked above first gear, unlockable via a lever. Gear changes via quickshifter: brutally fast, requiring minimal effort. Chassis, Aero & Weight: Öhlins NPX fork, TTX36 shock absorber, new twin-arm swingarm (saves 3.27 kg). Front frame: 40% less lateral stiffness for improved lean angle feel. Brembo Hypure calipers, Corner Side Pods, 20 mm wider winglets (25% more downforce at 270 km/h). Footpegs moved 10 mm inwards, larger seat, taller windscreen. Wet weight without fuel: 186.5 kg. Exclusive riding impressions from Misano: The engine revs and pulls endlessly – pure MotoGP sound. The electronics from the Ducati Corsa division (traction/slide control, ECBS Track Plus) are significantly more aggressive than on the V4S.
