لماذا رفض القرآنيون حجية السنة ؟ | السيد كمال الحيدري
The Islamic scholar and thinker, Ayatollah Sayyid Kamal al-Haydari, presents a lesson titled: "Human Purity (3)." However, two questions arise: Why did they say that? Between me and God, if these people had animosity towards Islam, they wouldn't have accepted the Quran either. So, they don't have a problem with Islam or with the Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Then why did they confine jurisprudence and rulings to the Holy Quran? That's the first question. The answer: They believe that the Quranic verses say that everything you need is in the Holy Quran. Between me and God, there is a text that is more precise, reliable, and has more considerations than the Quranic text in terms of its chain of transmission and meaning. What is their chain of transmission? The most reliable chains of transmission are those that are explicitly stated in the Quran, meaning they are not transmitted by meaning, nor are they altered, fragmented, or subject to taqiyya (dissimulation). There are fifty flaws that have plagued hadiths, and these are not found in the Quran. As for the verses they relied upon, there are many, including: "We have not neglected anything in the Book." Now, don't tell me that by "the Book" is meant the Preserved Tablet. I am speaking of the Quran. Don't read to me, "The Messenger of God said," or "Al-Sadiq said," or "Al-Ridha said." I do not accept narrations. The apparent meaning of the Quran, when it says "the Book," refers to the Holy Quran. "And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification of all things." Does this require further explanation, or not? It does not. "There has come to you from God a light and a clear Book." (Quran 6:38, An-Nahl 16:89, Al-Ma'idah 5:150). Now, someone might say, "No, the Quran is general, and we need the Sunnah for details." But is it other than God that I should seek as judge, when He is the One who has revealed to you the Book in detail? Who said that it is general enough to require details? You say the Quran says, "Pray," and you ask, "How do I pray?" You say, "Between me and God, the Messenger of God found that it was in our best interest to pray in that way. We find that it is in our best interest to pray in this way. The matter is settled, there's nothing more to it!" Who said that we must all pray in the same way at all times? The proof is that the Messenger of God, in various times and places, prayed in one way or in different ways. There was a different way while traveling, a different way in fear, a different way in war, a different way when sick, a different way in Mecca, a different way in Medina, and so on. The matter is settled. Who said that there is only one way to pray? Now we will mention several ways to pray in our time. If the Messenger of God had been around, he would have mentioned another way. Another verse in Al-An'am 114: "And We have certainly brought them a Book which We detailed with knowledge, as guidance and mercy." Who said that it is general, requiring detailed explanation? "A Book whose verses are perfected and then explained in detail." So, firstly, the first question is: Why did they say that the Sunnah is not a proof? What is their primary evidence? In summary, I say it is negative because the subject matter is absent, as there is no need for the Sunnah. There is nothing left to need the Sunnah for. The second proof: Before I explain the second proof, I will explain an important introduction, my dear friends. The term Sunnah is sometimes used to refer to the actual Sunnah issued by the infallible one. That is, you are now in the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and you hear him directly with your own ears, understanding his noble teachings. Has this Sunnah been issued or not? You know what intuitive knowledge is according to Aristotelian logic. What are sensory perceptions according to Aristotelian logic? They are among the certainties, and among the sensory perceptions are those heard. And you hear from whom? The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. So, is it certain or not? Yes, this is what we call this terminology. They call it an actual Sunnah, a Sunnah issued before you. This is one type of Sunnah. Sometimes the term Sunnah is used not to refer to an actual Sunnah, but rather to a chain of transmission through five intermediaries: so-and-so on the authority of so-and-so on the authority of so-and-so on the authority of so-and-so on the authority of so-and-so, who says, "The Messenger of God said..." Did you hear this from the Messenger of God, or do these people say it through intermediaries on the authority of the Messenger of God? Which of them? This year is a real year, or a possible year, it may or may not have been issued. Now, tell me, our master, the most exalted of the chains of transmission, yes, I am not saying that they lied, and perhaps they were mistaken or made a mistake inadvertently, they forgot, the...
