CAPITOL PEAK 14,138 FT - COLORADO'S HARDEST 14ER
Capitol Peak is arguably the hardest of all the 14ers via their standard routes. Day hike from Capitol Creek trailhead is a 17.5 miles round trip with 5,600 ft gain. I had my eyes set on this one since I started climbing 14ers in 2017, every time a new video would come on here or on Facebook, I would make sure I watched, and always my hands got sweaty and tight feeling around my chest because I knew one day I will have to face it myself. In preparations for this mountain I picked up rock climbing a couple years ago and although I have climbed way harder routes as far as rating goes this mountain always looked scary to me, not only do you have to climb it with no rope, but there is also the uncertainty of things you can't control like rock fall and weather window. Hope you guys like my video, Capitol Peak is now one of my favorite 14ers behind Crestone Needle.
