XPS - X rays Photoelectron Spectroscopy
XPS is the one of the standard tools for surface material characterization. It is a surface sensitive technique which typically analyzes sample to a depth of 5 nm. XPS spectrum is basically a plot of the number of electrons detected at a specific binding energy. It is just like Photoelectric effect KE = hν – (BE + WF)
