On Friday, April 3, 2026, the Johns Hopkins Institute for America, China, and the Future of Global Affairs (ACF) hosted The China Debate We’re Not Having: Politics, Technology, and the Road Ahead, a public convening that ran from 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at Johns Hopkins SAIS in Washington, D.C. Session 2, titled "What the United States Wants," was moderated by Jim Steinberg (Dean, Johns Hopkins SAIS) and included Matt Duss (Center for International Policy), Leslie Vinjamuri (Chicago Council on Global Affairs), and Katherine Thompson (CATO), Jonas Nahm (Johns Hopkins SAIS) as panelists.
