A fé que desafia o medo

An attack attempted to destroy them. Their actions keep them standing. Contribute to the church in Syria at https://pa-br.org/47UKUEJ In June 2025, an ordinary service at the Mar Elias Church in Damascus was interrupted by a devastating attack. A suicide bomber stormed the church armed with a rifle and explosives, transforming a moment of worship into a night of profound suffering for the entire local Christian community. Elias, Hanan, and their five children survived the attack in Syria. They describe the moments of terror they experienced inside the church: the gunfire, the explosion, the desperate search for their children, and the irreparable loss of family and friends. Twenty-four Christians were killed, including seven relatives of Elias. Six months after the attack, the family returns to church for the first time. Amidst tears, memories, and faith, they testify to how God has been their strength in the midst of trauma – and how, even in the face of fear, they remain steadfast in following Christ. Open Doors, through its local partners, has been offering emotional support and post-trauma care to survivors of this attack. And their message is clear: “Don’t forget us.” Donate now and strengthen the courageous faith of Christians facing extreme violence in the Middle East.
