"The Burlington" by Samuel Thompson of Millfields - From 1922

You can see exactly what was done for this wonderful cistern. There was a second one on site, but couldn't be documented. It however involved a Maples Foundry Co "Burlington 88s" Model cistern and a George Skey "The Anchor" pan in Cane & White. The pan here is a 1958 era Royal Venton 'Royal'. Recently, I decided I might open up a new playlist of WC videos, even though I feel like i've done my bit. However, with the simulation that is life and only bad things happening when I go against my gut feelings like this, I have now decided the line is indeed drawn and the answer is once again, No. Below, are the self explanatory results of my latest trip yesterday & today: 1. 2023 LLPB Wickes in fully unmodernized setting. Ls eq revealed the original WC to be early 70s LL Royal Doulton Ashdown WCs. 2. Lockdown Project Burlington LL, Very much likely replaced a HLSP Dauntless in original setting. (typically the case when a reproduction is used) 3. Modern LL Twyford Classic.... in a totally 1980s venue 4. Portland CCPB from 2015. Replaced LL DM. 5. Smelly damp CCPB Roca, then a seperate, ancient outside WC... with a CC Ideal Standard Baronet 6. Ccpb square vile thing, but was in a modernish looking place. 7. Amazing looking private WC (permission visit) consisting of a 1970s Royal Doulton basin.... and another Wickes Portland CCPB, HL replacement. 8. Carwash, expected CCPB but then found an amazing old garage opposite with a Pyramid basin... then a nice new LL DM Elan & Twyford Classic pan... 9. Really lovely sweet cafe. 2017... CCPB Lecico Neon, directly replaced something very old. Now for the straw that broke the camels back... 10. Antique shop: Shoddy CCPB dating from 14th of Jan 2025... Directly replaced an Alfred Johnson Low Level Cistern and pan from pre-1956... basin still survives. I was with my partner, and they asked me if I was ok after that...... That was when I knew, don't go back, the damned simulation will sting until you go forward. In this case, I now plan future dates, not bog hunts. Not 1 film But of course, the HLSP Dudley Tri-shell that's already been filmed still lives, and it seems every other WC documenter still gets luck... one is apparently due to move to my area, carry the d486 legacy on, sooooo, it is what it is. More urbex and videos of interest to come 😁💜
