Curatorship in the Age of AI: Art, Authorship, and Human Creativity Guest: Cauê Alves In the new episode of Authorship in Debate, philosopher and curator Cauê Alves, Chief Curator of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM) since 2020, discusses how artificial intelligence is reconfiguring the fundamental concepts of authorship in contemporary art. A conversation about curatorship, intellectual property, and copyright in the age of artificial intelligence: how have artists incorporated artificial intelligence as a creative tool, expanding gestures, processes, and narratives without abandoning human authorship? ABOUT THE GUEST Cauê Alves holds a master's and doctorate in Philosophy from FFLCH-USP. He is a professor in the Department of Arts at FAFICLA, PUC-SP, and chief curator of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo. He is also a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Arts and Cultural Practices at PUC-SP. He is the author of several texts on art, including a text in the catalog of the exhibition Mira Schendel, Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto, and Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and Tate Modern, London. He leads the research group in Art History, Criticism, and Curatorship at PUC-SP (CNPq). Between 2016 and 2020, he was chief curator of the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology, MuBE.
