Unlike more crowded trails (such as the West Highland Way), you'll rarely encounter other hikers, guaranteeing an immersive nature experience. It is precisely this solitude that offers numerous opportunities to observe rare animals in their natural habitat along the trail. Keep an eye out for the majestic golden eagle, the playful red squirrel, and the elegant European wildcat. Discover how I encountered deer, roe deer, wild goats, and sheep on our hike, all of which bring this beautiful landscape to life. The East Highland Way stretches for 132 km and winds through tiny villages.
