"March" from Symphonic Metamorphosis | Paul Hindemith
Composed for orchestra in 1943, Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber was originally intended as music for a ballet which was ultimately never performed. The resulting composition featured four movements comprised of various thematic material based on the music of Weber. The fourth movement, "March", was arranged for band in 1960 by director of bands at Yale University, Keith Wilson, at the request of Paul Hindemith himself, who believed that the work should be made available for wind band. http://www.armyfieldband.com / armyfieldband / armyfieldband / armyfieldband / armyfieldband / thesixstringsoldiers For more information visit our website or contact: The United States Army Field Band 4214 Field Band Drive STE 5330 Fort Meade, Maryland 20755-7055
