This video reflects on the transformation of the image in our era: from a reflection of a profound reality to a simulacrum without referent. In a world where the sacred has disappeared—not died, but vanished—the image no longer refers to anything else; it becomes an idol, a fetish, a surface closed in on itself. Here I explore the death of the referent, the absence of transcendence, and the shift from the symbolic image to the empty, hypervisual, and technical image, displayed without silence or mystery. Art that no longer knows it is illusion falls into the trap of its own literalness and loses all power to seduce. The image can no longer imagine reality because it has become reality itself. It no longer transfigures or dreams: it merely shows, with a pointless perfection, a world without depth or secret.
