17th Century Immigrants Arriving in Virginia

The show goes into detail about 17th Century Virginia by discussing the Virginia Company, the ships, the parish records, the first county records and much more. We define the differences between colonial charters, and royal colony status. Many sources are shared throughout the show and we name 10 families who arrived in Virginia during the 1600s by sharing details about their lives. We also share over twenty ships sailing to Virginia in 1635. Many of these were passenger ships that carried indentured servants to Virginia. We also discuss the characteristics between the 17th & 18th centuries, such as, average life span in years, class status, landscape/climate differences from the mother country and how manual labor affected the colonists.
