I've had Tainted Grail on my hard drive for about three years. And then I forgot about it. In March 2025, Mr. Adam from Awaken Realms reminded me of it, and I decided to give it a try. The adventure in Tainted Grail was surprisingly interesting – it's a typical, classic RPG, with a touch of Morrowind and Gothic. Is that a bad thing? It's a good thing. Because when you look at creatures and abominations like Avowed, Tainted Grail simply shines – all the mechanics that are slowly being neutered from the open-world RPG genre are present in Tainted Grail, and they're a joy to play. Unfortunately, Tainted Grail is a Polish game with typical Polish bugs. What does that mean? It means the game is made without any real desire to ruin it. How does that manifest itself? Tainted Grail has a great old RPG feel, but for example: recalling a summon that's scaring an NPC, making it impossible to talk to them in Tainted Grail, costs 10 mana. But we only have 5 mana because the rest is blocked by the summon (ik de). So we have to find a mob that will kill the summon before we can return to town to talk to the NPC.
