This London concert marks BTS's return seven years after they became the first K-pop singers to hold a solo concert at Wembley Stadium in 2019. There are still about 10 hours left until the concert starts, but as you can see behind me, the area in front of the venue is already packed with fans eager to purchase BTS merchandise. This world tour, "Arirang," will take place across 88 shows in 34 major cities worldwide. It is the largest single tour ever organized by a K-pop artist. With all performances selling out well in advance, they have proven their status as "world-class." The tour began last April, traveling through Korea and various cities in North and Central America before landing in Europe. Following Madrid, Spain, and Brussels, Belgium, London is the third city on the tour, after which it moves on to Munich, Germany, and Paris, France. Many "ARMYs" I met here said they plan to attend the London concerts for two consecutive days, as well as accompany the group to performances in other European cities. Their agency, HYBE, described this concert as a stage showcasing "BTS 2.0," a new chapter for BTS. They explained that Korean sentiment has been deeply infused throughout the production, resulting in a rich display of Korean colors. [Anchor] I hear that various commemorative events are also taking place throughout central London in conjunction with this concert? [Reporter] Today, the day of the first performance, events welcoming BTS are unfolding in earnest across central London. The London Eye, a representative landmark of London, will be illuminated tonight in red, the core color of the 'Arirang' tour. Additionally, a large boat carrying an 'Arirang' logo sculpture is scheduled to float on the River Thames. From the 8th to the 10th, a special media art performance featuring BTS will be held at the Outer Net, a multi-cultural complex in London. The Korean Cultural Centre in the UK has organized a special event titled 'BTS The City Arirang London' in collaboration with HYVE to mark this London concert. It is an opportunity to view stage costumes and music videos worn by BTS members during past world tours, and to write letters of support to the members. I also visited the venue yesterday, and I was able to meet ARMYs from all over the world, including various European countries, the Middle East, and Asian nations. The Cultural Center reported that the response was explosive, with 2,600 tickets for the event—which runs for one week from the 4th to the 10th—selling out in just two minutes after online reservations opened. Including on-site admissions, approximately 2,800 people are expected to participate. With various programs prepared to allow visitors to experience Korean culture, such as trying on Hanbok and viewing Korean painting exhibitions, the event is serving as an opportunity to introduce the diverse charms of Korean culture to people around the world.
