Another customer of ours, driving a Dodge Ram, was experiencing severe longitudinal play in the driver's seat, which wobbled when accelerating and braking. We inspected the seat frame and discovered worn threaded bushings on two of the seat's lift motor gearboxes. The customer had a donor safety frame, from which we reinstalled these bushings and eliminated the driver's seat play. This happens, too. It happens when customers insure themselves in advance. In this case, he did the right thing, as a complete repair and restoration of the bushings would have cost him much more.
