Published March 15, 2026, free from mid-April. Well over 20 years in the industry... Countless trade shows, dozens of halls, hundreds of conversations, thousands of kilometers traveled to see new products, meet people from the industry, touch equipment, and understand where it's all going 🤩 I was at the trade shows as a visitor 🧐 I was also on the other side, as an exhibitor, event participant, and someone who saw this world not only from a spectator's perspective 😉 And that's why today I'm asking myself a very simple question: where is it all headed? Because in my opinion, it's come to a point where many trade shows simply don't want to go anymore 🤷‍♂️ Too much chaos, too little substance, too few people you can actually talk to, and on top of that, a lot of things are shown more "for show" than to actually contribute anything to the industry 🤢 The world is changing, the market is changing, and communication is changing too 👉 The question is, can trade shows keep up? Are they just playing their old role, which is becoming increasingly weaker 🤨 In this episode, I tell you straight up why I'm skipping bicycle trade shows this year 🤷‍♂️ I explain what, in my opinion, isn't working today, what has changed in recent years, and why I increasingly don't see any real value in them 👉 for either visitors or the industry.
