This award, established in 2010, is also known as the "Nobel Prize of Cities." In an interview, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an thanked his past city government teams, public-private partnerships, and all citizens for their support. He also revealed that the judging panel was very impressed with the Taipei City Government's "Drinking Fresh Milk Freshly" policy, deeming it "very smart." At the opening ceremony of AI EXPO Taiwan, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an happily announced that the Taipei City Government had won the Lee Kuan Yew World Cities Award from Singapore, becoming the first city/county in Taiwan to receive this award. He expressed his special gratitude to past city government teams, public-private partnerships, and the support of all citizens, which enabled them to win the prestigious award, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize of Cities," amidst fierce competition from major cities worldwide. Chiang Wan-an stated that the entire selection process was rigorous. He also revealed that in the final stage, after the international judging panel conducted on-site visits to the city, they were particularly impressed by the Taipei City Government's "Drink Fresh Milk" policy, praising it as "very smart." The seven award-winning governance practices of Taipei City include zero-waste transformation, flood control management, commercial district revitalization, green transportation integration, sports city policy, measures to address the declining birth rate, and the application of AI in municipal governance. Chiang Wan-an stated that the city government will continue its efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of urban governance, creating greater well-being for all citizens.
